Does anyone else buy golf equipment on Ebay?

Lately, I’ve been getting all my gear off ebay. Typically, I’ll go to a golf shop, test some clubs, find something I like and then monitor prices for it on Ebay until I find a good deal. And I’ve had tremendous luck so far. Anyone else for this strategy?

  1. a great way to save money! The most important thing is to check out the buyer’s feedback and make sure you can at least see pics of the clubs. Be careful with the shipping charges, some sellers hope you don’t realize how much it is until it’s too late. And I would steer clear of seller’s out of the country unless their feedback is perfect – I bought my Titleist DCI 962 irons on Ebay and they are exceptional -

  2. almost 85% of the time! Most of the time eBay is a great source for clubs. Sometimes golf pro stores will lower the prices on New-but-old clubs. Good stuff!

  3. I’ve used the same strategy myself when buying clubs. I got my current set of irons (Adams A2 OS) off eBay. However, the next set of irons I buy, I’m going to a golf pro to be fitted.

I know a couple guys who recently got fitted for their new sets of irons and the results have been pretty amazing. These two guys are making much better contact with the ball and are hitting more greens in regulation. Seeing what it’s done for them has made me a believer in getting fitted for your clubs.

  4. I HAVE BOUGHT MANY OF MY CLUBS FROM EBAY. THE TRICK IS TO FIND A CLUB OR CLUBS YOU HIT THE BEST AND TRY TO FIND THE SAME ONE ON EBAY. MOST OF THE TIME YOU FIND ANY CLUB YOU SEARCH FOR. I BOUGHT A FAIRWAY METAL FOR 1/8 OF THE COST IT WAS YOU USED, BUT IT WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. REMEMBER TO READ EVERY DETAIL OF THE ITEM AND DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK THE SELLER QUESTIONS. IF THEY WANT TO SELL THE ITEM THEY WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. GOOD LUCK!

  5. my brother does all the time, and the clus are usually in very good condition!

  6. That’s exactly what I do!

  7. Yeah thats exactly what i do. Its great for buying gloves and balls too. I brought everything from my driver, iron and 3 wood from ebay. Only thing I didnt get was my putter which i got at a golf show. Just make sure the seller has good ratings and its no worries, I never had a problem.

  8. I do it all the time. I have bought 3 different sets of clubs, single clubs(Drivers and wedges) Balls, tees and gloves and have always saved just about half. But I only buy from sellers with high feedback percentages and brand new and wrapped items.

  9. I have, but typically get better deals elsewhere (like http://www.rockbottomgolf.com). I purchased my Odyssey putter from an eBay store, got it for like $30, including s/h.

  10. we are like twins….i do the exact same thing…literally…i go to a golf store then the driving range to test the club i’m thinking about….and get it on ebay…..you save way more $$$
