I have 3 spots in my bag. I really need a sand wedge and a lob wedge. I also need a hybrid (2 iron). Does anyone have suggestions on good and inexpensive models. Low launch hybrid would be best. Is the Tour Edge Bazooka JMAX Tour any good? Thanks
try genericclubs.com You will find several clone clubs at great savings. You may want to consider a gap wedge. I persoanlly like the tour hybrid which is a knockoff of the hibore
Yes, the Tour Edge actually made the Golf Digest Hotlist 2007, which already tells you that it’s a great club. It won the "Value" award also in that issue because it’s so cheap.
Also, check out the Tour Edge wedges, they are only $30 for the standard Bazooka’s. They also have a "Milled" version that delivers extra spin, for around $60. It’s compared to the Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedge, which is $120 and won the Golf Digest Hotlist Edito’rs choice award.
Hope this helps you.
I hope this helps, but every swing and person is different…For wedges, saving money won’t really help, as you’ll find the better models are engineered "heavier" to cut through muck and get the ball in the air.
The clone clubs are good, but what happens when you want to upgrade? A used name brand is worth more and for good reason.
If you’re a high handicapper, look into the f2 series…A friend of mine got a set and he’s deadly accurate all of a sudden. We kid him a lot, because it’s a gimmicky infomercial deal… But he has results, so if you just want to beat your buddy but take a ribbing for it, there you go.
As for hybrids…I dressed up and went to golfsmith to try everything they had and see what "felt" best. I liked the Adams idea, but it occurred to me that if I would just hit my four iron correctly, I could save the two hundred bucks and still get on in three. So I bought Ben Hogan’s fundamentals of golf for four dollars…and it’s amazing how relevant his fundamentals fifty years ago still applies today.
Good luck out there!
The Tour Edge is a great choice for a hybrid. For wedges, I bought a Calaway 56 and 60 degree set on Ebay for $40.00 for the pair. They went mint condition but still have years of play left in them.
Best of luck and keep it in the fairway.
I was recently trawling the web looking for information on how to lower my golf handicap when I came across this site ( http://as101.com/ez/bvysdqfqvgek ) offering the chance to participate for a $500 Golfsmith gift card. All I had to do was enter my zip code and follow a few quick & easy instructions. I am now the proud owner of a new set of clubs but I am still waiting for my handicap to come down!
