Hole in One in Golf

In any type of sport there great records can take place. Without any exception this can be said about golf. One of the examples can be represented by such notion as hole-in-one. In American English hole-in –one is also known as ace and it can be defined as one of the sport events when a golf player hits the ball directly from the tee into the cup. This often happens on a par 3 hole. In other words the golfer uses only one attempt out of three which appears to be successful and therefore ultimate. It is nearly impossible to repeat on 4 and 5 par because they are too long. In this case a golfer really demands an exceptionally precise craftsmanship.

In the world of golf cases of holes in one represent an infrequent event. Not each golfer can brag that s/he disposes a great arsenal of established records. It depends in the first instance on the golfer’s skills and techniques used by him/her. Sometimes even good fortune may play a big role. During the major championships and golf tournaments the player who managed to hit the ball with one shot may receive a new car or a decent sum of money which sometimes reaches $ 4 million.
The chances of any golfer to make hole in one are very small. Out of 12 500 hits one can be finished by hole-in one. Now it is clear that such event takes place not so often. Among the most memorizable examples happened during British Open in 1973. At that time Gene Sarazen being a golfer of honourable age (71) made a hole-in-one.
It may happen so that even an amateur player can establish the record of this kind. In corroboration of this event the amateur player who made one-in-hole must present at least one person who has become the witness of this record. After that this game will be mentioned in the local sport newspaper.

How to choose a golf club

Before playing a golfer must think over not only the strategies of playing but also he/she has to think out the right equipment. The right equipment will make the play more effective. Of course the main emphasis in this case is laid on the right golf club.


Each of us knows that a golf club is used in the sport golf to hit a golf ball. There are three kinds of golf clubs: woods, irons and putters. For long distances a golfer will choose woods. Irons are used for a variety of shots. Putters are used in the final part of the play when the player has to roll the ball into the cup.
Altogether a seasoned golfer has at his/her disposal around 14 golf clubs. During the play the golfer has to know where and what kind of golf club to use. It is believed even that namely golf clubs alone and not the golfer that win the game. There is something truth in it.
In order to improve the quality of the game itself the player must not spare resources or money for the right equipment. A right golf club is of course costs money. A skilled person knows that high technologies that are used for producing the equipment are set into motion. Not without reason there is a belief that a player and a club make together a team. Therefore we must choose the best players for our team.
The ability to choose the appropriate golf club for the execution of a given stroke also plays a very important role. Nobody will deny that a good golf club can stand a golf player in good stead. It may even compensate for small mistakes in golfer’s technique. As a result a player will be able to effectuate a superb shot out of a not so superb stroke.
Also each player has to choose namely those golf clubs that correspond to his level and techniques. This aspect may improve the game as any player gives preference to golf clubs that match his/her skill.
Golf is a game that demands concentration, quietness and patience.  And if a player has the wish to succeed in golf s/he must have the ability to select the most essential clubs game in order to make the process of playing more pleasant.

It is not an easy task to find the perfect golf equipment that can exactly match your skills, techniques. This task demands much time and thinking. Some people buy only new equipment without any deep thoughts and reflections. They do this not because of the principle of economy.   Many of us think that every new thing  means good quality. While buying new equipment or even supplementing the collection of golf clubs the person is guided by personal considerations that the equipment must be of good quality and it must serve for a long period of time. There are many advantages to buying used golf items. The very first thing that may be said in defense is cost efficiency.

Target being the most famous place where the best golf items are offered bring to attention of consumers used golf clubs, hats, gloves, bags.  For only $80-$90 it is quite possible to buy a full set of clubs, a bag and a towel on top of it all.  This price of course is good for people who do not consider themselves to be great professionals, but at the same time they think that golf occupies an important part in their lives.

Among disadvantages of used golf equipment and of stores that offer it we may ascribe not so wide choice of goods. For example a left-handed player can not always find the necessary equipment. In addition to the being able to get the right club for your dominant hand, it is also important to get the right club head and shaft length for your particular needs.
Nevertheless, used golf clubs may be very useful for beginners and children.

“To buy or not to buy?”; this question can be answered differently.  In the first turn we must pay attention to the player itself, whether s/he is a professional or not. But in any case in second hand shops we very often come across golf items of very good quality that of course will be not superfluous in the collection of any inveterate player.
